According to a recent report from the transit agency’s CEO the TTC says over half of its employees who failed random drug tests- tested positive for pot. 22 of the 12 hundred TTC workers failed the drug tests over a 6 month span, or 2 percent of the overall work force. 12 had marijuana in their system and 5 more tested positive for other drugs and another 5 had been drinking alcohol. 5 of those who failed the random drug tests are TTC operators. More than 10,000 employees are subject to the random testing, including operators and maintenance employees, as well as designated supervisors, managers and executives.  We speak with TTC Executive Director, Corporate Communications Brad Ross about it.
