As of Monday, January 8th you can register for the $25 dollar Loblaw gift card. It`s compensation after the company admitted to a bread-fixing scheme over a period of 14 years. As many as 6 million cards are expected to be issued. What we don’t know is how much the bread price fixing amounts to and why that has not been disclosed. Loblaw is promising that accepting the gift card won’t prevent you from getting more compensation down the road. That may come from a class action lawsuit. We spoke with lawyer Jay Strosberg, partner at Strosberg, Sasso, Sutts, who is one of the lawyers behind a class action law suit for patrons in Canada excluding Quebec.
