Canadian law has been changed to lift the 95 year old prohibition on marijuana allowing adults to openly smoke, ingest or grow the drug without fear of a criminal record. Senators approved a final version of bill C45, the Cannabis Act last night. The legislation now needs royal assent and then time for the provinces to prepare for retail sales of marijuana.
