The City of Toronto announced yesterday it will be installing 53 new Senior Safety Zones. The locations chosen to receive the new zones have been identified as having a significant older population and are expected to be completed this fall. The Senior Safety Zones are part of the City’s Vision Zero Road Safety Plan which includes measures designed to raise the visibility of seniors and give them more time to safely cross the street. We speak with David Simor a project manager for 8 80 cities as well as CARP’s Toronto Chapter Chair Adina Lebo.
