Today mandatory alcohol screening is in effect across the country. The new federal legislation is designed to reduce injuries and death from impaired driving by helping police catch motorists with more than the legal limit of alcohol in their bloodstreams whereby police can pull anyone over without having any particular reason to suspect them of being impaired. But, legal challenges are expected.
