Cycle Toronto is calling on the city to extend the bike lanes on Bloor Street. Cycle Toronto’s Executive Director Jared Kolb who says nearly one million people used the Bloor bike lanes in the past year. He also explained since they’ve been operational, city data shows collisions involving vehicles and pedestrians have declined by 55 per cent. Councillor Mike Layton is for the bike lanes, but says there could be delays because of work already on the books. Cycle Toronto hopes the lanes will be expanded and in use by 2020. Joining Libby in studio is bicycle advocate Albert Koehl and Councillor Stephen Holyday, Deputy Mayor for the west end of the city.
