Financial support for seniors is among the highlights in yesterday’s federal budget.
Laura Tamblyn Watts of the Zoomers advocacy group CARP calls the financial document a win for older Canadians, especially low income seniors.
But the budget did not include many of the key CARP demands for better pension protection, care giver benefits and the easing of mandatory RIFF withdrawals.
There is also new spending to help millennial home buyers, skills training for working people and more leading up to the fall election.
