Premier Doug Ford announced his new plan for transit that involves $28.5 billion dollars in provincial spending for transit and highways. Published reports reveal that the Tories plan to change the route of the downtown relief line and re-name it the Ontario Line. Toronto Mayor John Tory is concerned that today’s announcement will lead to more delays. Yesterday members of the Mayor’s executive committee approved 4 city-generated transit plans with Councillor Gord Perks. While Transportation Minister Jeff Yurick insists the city has nothing to fear.
