In a unanimous vote, yesterday, Toronto City Council approved the implementation of Vision Zero 2.0.
The new $123-million dollar plan aims to reduce cyclist and pedestrian deaths to zero.One of its initiatives is to reduce speed limits on more roads across the city.
Yesterday, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a garbage truck driver in North York. The victim is the 18th pedestrian to be killed by collision in Toronto this year.
Also, Toronto City Council approved the creation of a new agency to oversee seniors’ housing in the city as part of the Toronto Community Housing Corporation portfolio.
