Jane Brown is filling in for Libby Znaimer. She is joined by Shelagh Pizey-Allen, Executive Director, TTCriders, and NDP MPP Jessica Bell, Critic on Transit.

There is a push to place additional cameras on TTC streetcars to enforce traffic violations.

Last week, a woman was hit by a dump truck, while exiting out of a streetcar on Bathurst Street. While the Streetcar’s cameras recorded the accident, Police were not allowed to utilize the recording under the Highway Traffic Act.

NDP MPP Jessica Bell is part of the movement to make these changes. Jaye Robinson, TTC Board Chair and Toronto Councillor for Ward 15 Don Valley West, introduced a motion that, if approved will request of the Province to make changes to the Highway Traffic Act.
