Education workers in Ontario, 55,000 of them, are poised to strike on Monday if they do not reach a contract deal by then. The strike could shut down classes for many of the two million students in the school system. It also has the potential of affecting the course of the federal election.This strike date just happens to coincide with the big English language debate. And the word is that Conservatives are worried because of what they have been hearing at the door in the 905. And while Doug Ford has stayed out of the campaign, the Prime Minister keeps taking him on, including on the possibility of labour strife in the education sector.
