TOPIC – Carbon Monoxide detector/Hawkins Gignac Act update
INFO – Update on Ernie Hardeman’s private members bill to required carbon monoxide detectors in homes. The bill will have clause-by-clause consideration at committee Thursday November 21, and should be reported back to the Legislature on Monday November 25.
Based on the programming motion the government is required to call it for third reading within five sessional days which means third reading will occur between November 26 and December 2. Sadly third reading will be within a day or two of the fifth anniversary of the Hawkins family being killed by carbon monoxide.
