INFO – The Big Four are – Impaired driving, aggressive driving, improper or lack of using seat belts and distracted driving.
-287 killed on OPP roads in 2013, down from 347 deaths in 2012.
-246 of the 287 deaths the Big four were the main factors.
– 78 deaths on OPP roads where the person was distracted compared to 86 in 2012, down 9.3%.
-17,997 distracted driving charges by OPP officers in 2012, compared to 15,400 in 2013, up by 16.9%.
-Big four : Distracted deaths 78, 67 seatbelts deaths, 57 impaired deaths, 44 speed related deaths – total 246.
