GUEST – Kevin Dooley, Researcher/Inventor
TOPIC –Unifor Union Wind Turbine in Port Elgin Area. Kevin Dooley will discuss general questions about wind turbines.
INFO – Kevin Dooley Lives in Toronto and has recently retired from a 40 year career with Pratt and Whitney Canada (gas turbine engine manufacturer), where for the last fifteen years, worked in the Advanced Engineering group in the position of Fellow of Emerging Technologies.
Mr. Dooley is a recognized inventor with over 100 US patents covering 5 different disciplines, to his credit (Electronics, Electro-Magnetics, Acoustics, Hydro-Dynamics and Instrumentation).
The Acoustic Society of America (ASA) has recently published two of Kevin’s technical papers related to infrasound which were presented in San Francisco in December 2013, one of which presents a theory of propagation of infrasound from wind turbines titled “Acoustic interaction as a primary cause of infrasonic spinning mode generation and propagation from wind turbines”, and the second paper which outlines what appears to be a scientifically documented link between infrasound and some forms of motion sickness, titled “ Significant infrasound levels a previously unrecognized contaminant in landmark motion sickness studies”
Kevin is presently working as a freelance Multidisciplinary Technical Consultant, and is presently developing an Infrasound suppression system for use in homes, as a means to reduce the exposure of the occupants to infrasound from wind turbines and other external sources.
Kevin Dooley has done noise testing in the Port Elgin area and published papers for Acoustical Society of America (ASA) on the connection between motion sickness and wind turbine syndrome being pressure changes in the ear. He was also recently in Providence RI at the ASA conference presenting a paper.
