It’s ‘the vintage year – 1957’.  Rock’n’roll was taking over the charts and Elvis was ‘King’.  Newsmakers included ‘The Little Rock Nine’, John Diefenbaker, and the AVRO Arrow; ‘Sputnik’ started the space race, and it was the end of baseball’s golden age in New York when the Dodgers and Giants both left for the west coast. The great songs and newsmakers of 1957 …
