Hi, I’m Gene Stevens, host of ‘Vintage Favourites’ every Sunday afternoon.
February 3rd, 1959 – was ‘the day the music died’, in Don McLean’s ‘American Pie’ – when Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash during their Winter Dance Party Tour.
I’ll play the songs featured in their final performance on February 2nd at the Surf Ballroom, in Clear Lake Iowa, as well as two famous tribute songs. So if you’re a fan of 50’s rock’n’roll – don’t miss this special tribute.
Plus birthday salutes to Graham Nash and Canadians Terry Black and Gene MacLellan… all on the next ‘Vintage Favourites’, Sunday from 2:00 to 4:30, on Zoomer Radio.
