Hi, I’m Gene Stevens, and here’s what’s on my next ‘Vintage Favourites’… as we approach the 40th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley on August 16th.
I’ll have two special editions of ‘Vintage Favourites’ dedicated to ‘The King’. First up this Sunday – remembering Elvis Live … with career highlights from his first live recordings at the Louisiana Hayride, and his iconic TV appearances, to his last songs at his final recorded show just weeks before his death.
Join me for this remarkable hour of ‘Elvis Live’ … followed by some classic reggae music marking the 50th anniversary of ‘Caribana’ and this Sunday’s giant annual parade … plus, a salute to a couple Canadians from a bygone age: crooner Dick Todd and Toronto’s own – songwriter Ruth Lowe.
Now that’s variety – that’s ‘Vintage Favourites’, this Sunday at 2, from Zoomer Radio.
