Hi, I’m Gene Stevens, with a look at our next ‘Vintage Favourites’.
One of the founding fathers of rock’n’roll passed away last week – I’ll be saluting Fats Domino and his incredible legacy of hit songs, bridging rhythm and blues to pop music in the 1950s, and defining the sound of New Orleans rock’n’roll.
I’ll also celebrate Winnipeg’s incorporation this week in 1873, with a triple play of songs about the city, and 7 big stars from ‘The ‘Peg’.
And, I’ll finish with a half-hour salute to Leonard Cohen, one year later.
All that’s on the next Vintage Favourites, this Sunday from 2 to 4:30, on Zoomer Radio.
