Look What They’ve Done to My Song Pt. 2

If you heard last week’s feature, I hope you enjoyed the amazing transformation some songs underwent as they got ‘covered’ by different artists. Among the featured songs last week were ‘Hound Dog‘ from Big Mama Thornton to Elvis Presley; ‘Yesterday‘ from The Beatles to Ray Charles, ‘All Along the Watchtower‘ from Bob Dylan to Jimi Hendrix, and ‘Sugar Sugar‘ from The Archies to Wilson Pickett. And we made an 8-decade leap with ‘Anything Goes‘ from its originator Cole Porter to the Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga remake.  There’ll be many more such pairings in ‘Look What They’ve Done to My Song – Part 2‘.
‘This Week in Zoomer Music’ – in the show’s first-hour – features triumph and tragedy, rockers and divas, and one very cool trivia question: who was the first artist of the rock’n’roll era to write and sing his own #1 Billboard pop hit ? All that and more … on the next ‘Vintage Favourites‘ at the new start time – 2pm this Sunday.
