Does a person suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s have the mental capacity to consent to sex? That’s the question at the heart of a court case in Iowa, where a 78 year old man is on trial for having sex with his wife while she lived in a care home for dementia patients. Libby talks to Dr. Michael Gordon from Toronto’s Baycrest about the implications.

Plus – Margaret Trudeau, former wife of a prime minister and mother of the current Liberal leader, is also known for her eloquent writing about mental illness. Now she’s taking on something that affects all Zoomers: how to live well as we age. She joins Libby in studio to talk about it.
