Many older canadians know first hand about being a caregiver. It becomes a balancing act of finding the right amount of personal time and spending the time needed looking after loved ones. Fortunately, the Ontario government has announced a program called patience first, designed to make things easier for families in these situations. Health Minister Dr. Eric Hoskins joins Jane to talk about the plans.
Plus – on average, Canadian artists only make 2/3 of what the rest of us do. It’s a challenging life, especially as they head toward their golden years. Scott Walker is the executive director of the Canadian Seniors Artists Resource network and joins Jane to talk about it.
