Mayor Rob Ford is defiant in the face of demands for an apology for his comments on our Sister station Vision TV. The remarks during his interview last night with Conrad Black, co-host of The Zoomer have sparked a firestorm of comment. On the show the mayor accused Police Chief, Bill Blair of having a political agenda. Michael Thompson is co-Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board. He says the mayor’s comments are unfounded and the mayor’s participation in the police budget process is a conflict of interest. But Mayor Ford says he will not withdraw and will cast a vote on the budget. Deputy Mayor, Norm Kelly says last night’s broadside is typical Rob Ford and the mayor should retract his remarks.
