An American woman who pleaded guilty to helping her mother commit suicide will not spend any more time behind bars. An Alberta judge made the decision today that Linda Jean McNall should be sentenced to eight months of time already served. McNall was charged with aiding suicide in the death of her 79-year-old mother Shirley Vann. Both had health problems and had cared for each other for decades while living in Alberta. The two made a suicide pact but McNall who is 53, survived. McNall will likely be deported back to the United States where the judge says he hopes she continues to get medical care.
