People in the northeast U.S. are preparing for what could be the worst winter storm in history. The U.S. National Weather Service has issued blizzard warnings for the New York and Boston areas. Forecasters say the massive Nor’easter could drop up to a metre of snow from northern New Jersey to southern Connecticut. Air Canada and Porter Airlines have cancelled flights between Toronto and number of East Coast cities. In total, some 1,900 flights have been scrubbed for Monday, with nearly 1,800 more scrapped for Tuesday. If you are flying today check with your airline before heading to the airport. For the GTA, the City of Toronto has cancelled the latest extreme cold weather alert. The northern part of the Niagara Region remains under a snow squall watch, while Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville continue under a snow squall warning.
