WEEKEND TRAFFIC NOTES

The Pan Am Women’s marathon takes place this (Sat.) morning.  Lakeshore  Blvd. is closed from Parkside to Strachan avenue  until two this afternoon.  Parkside from the Lake short to High Parak Boulevard will also be closed until about two colock.

A few other Pan Am related traffic notes:

Church Street from Alexander to Dundonald Streets is off-limits to drivers throughout the weekend  to 2 a.m. on Monday for a Pan Am Pride street festival that starts on Friday evening.

In addition to the Pan Am Games, there are a number of other events taking place that will affect traffic including a Blue Jays baseball game at Rogers Centre at 1 p.m., and two soccer games at BMO Field at 4 and 8:30 p.m. respectively.

Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival junior parade takes place today at 11 a.m. on Sewells Road. It heads west on McLevin Avenue to Neilson Road, north on Neilson to Neilson Park Drive, and east to the entrance of Neilson Park.  McLevin from Sewells to Neilson will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., while Neilson from McLevin to Finch will be closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness will hold its 43rd-annual religious and cultural parade on Saturday. The parade will start at 11 am. and take the following route:

Southbound on Yonge Street from Asquith Avenue
Eastbound on Queen’s Quay
Northbound on Freeland Street, which is the dispersal area
Traffic in the area will be interrupted to accommodate the parade
