MOSQUE FIRE IN PETERBOROUGH SET DELIBERATELY

Police say a weekend fire at mosque in Peterborough was set deliberately, with investigators saying they don’t know yet if the fire is connected to the Paris terrorist attacks.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims are calling the fire a hate crime and calling on authorities to investigate the matter.
Kanzoo Abdella, president of the local Muslim Religious Association has been receiving an outpouring of support from across the country on the matter.
The group is advising Muslims to be vigilant about the potential for a backlash against them in the wake of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.
Peterborough Mayor Daryl Bennett says attacking a place of worship is a despicable act.
