So you figure you’re pretty good at multitasking. The Journal Neuroscience suggests you might be wrong. New research indicates that staring at a digital display device interferes with your ability to listen. The phenomenon is known as “screen deafness”.
Humans process both sight and sound in the same, small region of the brain. Problem is, it has limited processing capacity and the brain has to choose one over the other.
