Wine drinkers will be pleased with a new deal struck between three Canadian provinces. Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and her counterparts from Quebec and B-C say they will be increasing the flow of wine among their provinces after announcing a deal that will allow consumers to buy wine from each other’s provinces using an online portal.Wynn says the new agreement will help Ontarians learn more about wines and also means more convenience, choice and access. Ontario is home to more than 240 wineries and about two-thousand people work in the wine industry. We have not freed the grapes completely but they are freer,” said B.C. Premier Christy Clark. The sales will continue to be regulated by each province’s liquor distribution agency but the goal is to make it easier for consumers to order wine online from outside their province. The wine will then be shipped and ready for pick up at either the local distributor of shipped directly.
