TTC spokesman Stewart Green says the move is in keeping with all of the information now being available on smart phone apps and digital displays in stations.  He says the move will save the TTC about $400 thousand dollars a year which can be plowed back into technical upgrades.

There is concern among low income riders and seniors who don’t have cell phones or internet access, but the TTC assures that the schedules are available by calling customer service and can be printed at city libraries.
