Leonard Cohen’s final collection of writings, poems, lyrics and illustrations will be released as a book titled ‘The Flame’.
It’s to be released October 26, 2018 by McClelland and Stewart.
Cohen’s manager and trustee of his estate, Robert Kory, says during the final months of his life, ”Leonard had a singular focus — competing this book taken largely from his unpublished poems and selections from his notebooks.  The flame and how our culture threatened its extinction was a central concern.  Though in declining health, Leonard died unexpectedly.  Those of us who had the rare privilege of spending time with him during this period recognized that the flame burned bright within him to the very end.  This book, finished only days before his death, reveals to all the intensity of his inner fire.”
Along with the poems, the book will include lyrics from his final three albums including ‘Blue Alert,’ an ”extensive” selection of writings from his notebooks, prose pieces and illustrations.
The writer, poet, composer and singer died last November as the age of 82.

Leonard Cohen lives on as one of ‘The Immortals’ Saturdays and Sundays at 4:30pm on Zoomer Radio AM 740, also 96.7 FM downtown.
