The famed Italian hatmaker Borsalino, the company known as “Italy’s habadasher to the stars,” has been declared bankrupt.
This was the company that outfitted Humphrey Bogart with his famous fedora in “Casablanca.”
And Harrison Ford’s famous head gear in the Indiana Jones movies.
A court in northern Italy threw out a rescue plan for the legendary company Monday and put it into administration.
Among those who considered themselves fans of Borsalino hats were Michael Jackson, Pharrell Williams and the late David Bowie who opted for a black Borsalino fedora for what proved his final photo shoot.
