The last batch of TTC Metro Passes go on sale today as the system continues the transition to Presto Cards.
The TTC says the Metro Pass has been the mainstay of its fare payment system for nearly 40 years and a regular monthly fixture in the lives and wallets of nearly 300 thousand Torontonians.
78-million of the passes have been sold since they were introduced in 1980. Back then they cost $26.00. The last batch will set adults back $146.25. Seniors and students pay $116.75.
December Metro Passes are available until December 5th. After that, monthly passes will only be available through Presto. Tickets and tokens will still be in use until the end of next year.
