Very few of us live to be 97 and those who do, have lost many of their abilities, including driving.
Prince Phillip, who was involved in an accident on Jan 17 which injured two women, was cleared of charges Thursday
The Prince’s agreement to give up driving was one of the reasons behind the authorities lenience on him.
We took into account all of the circumstances in this case, including the level of culpability, the age of the driver and the surrender of the driving license,” said Chris Long of the Crown Prosecution Service. “We have decided that it would not be in the public interest to prosecute.”
Phillip wasn’t inured himself in the accident but he did need help getting out of his Land Rover. A 9 month-old child in the other car wasn’t hurt in the collision. He apologized for the accident, claiming the sun was in his eyes.
Both Philip and the other driver were given breath tests and passed.
