People interested in getting into the legal pot business are going to get another crack at it.
The results of the second lottery for operators hoping to run a cannabis shop will be announced on Wednesday.
42 companies will be selected by the province’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to then formally apply for pot store licenses. They have to fit a number of criteria for that license to be granted.
Applicants have to show that they have secured the space to open a store and prove they have enough financial backing to operated it.
The lottery winners have until Aug. 28 to pay any licensing fees and show the regulator that they have access to at least $50,000 in credit.
