It’s April 30th, the day England’s fundraising treasure, now known as “Colonel” Tom Moore, turns 100.  He’s the former World War II vet who has raised more than $50-million CAD for Britain’s National Health Service.

As a gift, graffiti artist Andy Mills has painted Moore’s portrait on a wall in Staffordshire.

The then “Captain” Tom Moore raised the money after being pledged by people around the world to walk 100 laps of his yard, before his 100th birthday.

As another birthday gift, Tom has been appointed the first Honorary Colonel of the Army Foundation College.

This morning a “Battle of Britain Memorial Flight” flypast involving a Spitfire and a Hurricane took place in his honour.  Colonel Tom was captured on video punching air as the planes flew over his home in Bedfordshire.
