His first big hit dealt with space, so it’s only fitting, when they honoured him with a silver coin, the Royal Mint in England, launched it into space for a 45 minute orbit of the planet.

The late David Bowie was honoured as part of the British Mint’s legends collection.

The coin that went went to space was made of silver. The Mint has struck a limited run of 60 gold coins. They’re available for just under $16,000 US.

Bowie died of cancer in 2016 at the age of 69.
