He actually turned 90 on February 8th and this weekend the Boston Symphony Orchestra got around to honouring him.
John Williams, the composer of movie scores from “Star Wars” to the Indiana Jones movies, to “Fiddler on the Roof,” to “Jurassic Park,” finally got his Happy Birthday from the BSO at its summer academy Tanglewood.
Among those in attendance to salute Williams were music legends Yo-Yo Ma, James Taylor and Branford Marsalis.
Williams served as Boston Pops conductor and currently holds the titles Boston Pops Conductor Laureate and Tanglewood Artist-in-Residence.
