Casey Kasem has died.
A family spokesperson says the famed radio personality passed away Sunday morning at the age of 82. He had been battling dementia as welll as Parkinson’s disease.
Kasem’s familiar voice was heard on “American Top 40”, a syndicated radio and televsion show that counted down the weekly Top 40 hit recordings.
The show began in 1970, and lasted in different forms until Kasem retired in 2009.
In recent months there had been a battle between Kasem’s wife and the children from his first marriage over his end-of-life care.
