A diverse group of writers has been shortlisted for the 2018 Toronto Book Awards. The awards were first presented in 1974 as a way to honour books with a creative vision of Toronto. Mayor John Tory congratulated the 5 nominees saying this year’s shortlist adds to the city’s deep and rich literary legacy. The winner will be announced October 10th at the Toronto Reference Library. Finalists each receive $1,000 and the winning author is awarded $10,000.
