Queen Elizabeth made her first major public appearance since the funeral for her husband today when she went to Westminster to open the latest session of the British Parliament.
The monarch was on hand to deliver the annual Queen’s speech in which she reads out the government’s legislative priorities.
Among other things, Boris Johnson’s Conservative Government plans to expand student loan programs to give adults access to four years of university or job training as part of a program designed to help the U.K. recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 95-year old monarch has appeared online since Prince Philip’s funeral last month, but today was her first big public event since The Duke of Edinburgh was interred April 17th.
