For the first time since it started, Canadian music legend Neil Young wont be live at this year’s Farm Aid performance.
Young is citing COVID-19 concerns for his decision to withdraw from the annual benefit concert which supports American farmers.
On his web site, the 75-year old singer-songwriter wrote he feels it would be wrong to risk people dying or spreading COVID to vaccinated children by attending the concert.
He was scheduled to join the likes of Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp at the sold out festival, September 25th in Connecticut.
Over the 35 years it’s been held, Farm Aid has raised almost $55 million.
