The hiring momentum continues on both sides of the border as Canada and the U.S. posted jobs gains in October.
Statistics Canada says the economy added 31,000 jobs last month.
That brought the unemployment rate down to 6.7% from 6.9% in September. It’s the fifth-straight month the unemployment rate has declined.
In September, StatsCan announced the country had officially regained all of the approximately 3-million jobs lost from the start of the pandemic.
Economists had expected the hiring spree to continue.
American employers 531,000 new jobs in October. That’s the most since July.
