The Beatles sang “All You Need is Love.” Now, this uplifting message is being shared by a Toronto woman to us all during the challenging times.
“It’s such a simple message, just one word Love, but it is a beautiful reminder of what’s really important to all of us, and something we all need, something we all enjoy that uplifts all of us,” says Gabriela Carnovale.
The Toronto belly dancer was inspired by a man in the United State who started the Love billboard movement. And who couldn’t use a bit more love these days as we enter a third year amid a global pandemic.
“I thought it would just be a beautiful message to spread and yes it does seem like the timing is perfect.”
Gabriela first inquired about the billboard back in May during lockdown but securing a billboard is not easy or cheap.
“I decided to raise funds thru art because I am a belly dancer and I really love sharing art and so I organized an online show,” said Carnovale.
She also raised some of the funds at an outdoor show this summer. Gabriela’s billboard may soon be featured on the big screen.
“In the States, they’re working on a Love billboard documentary which is going to feature eight billboards all around the world and this one in Toronto is going to be featured.”
The Love billboard is at Dufferin and Billy Bishop Way in North York and will stay up until January 17th.
