Ontario police officers are named in a leaked list of donors to the ‘Freedom Convoy’ that shut down downtown Ottawa for more than three weeks.
The Star is reporting donations were made by 15 police officers from the province’s three largest forces: O-P-P, Toronto Police Service and Ottawa Police Service.
All were on the payroll in 2020.
And all three services had officers on the ground in Ottawa to police the Freedom Convoy.
The donations were small, ranging from $20 to $200 dollars and all were made on or after February 5, when the prime minister declared the protests “illegal” or “unlawful.”
The OPP has launched an internal investigation and Toronto Police say the force is not relying on the leaked list but is looking into the activities of two officers found on the list.
