It is the end of an era online.

The 27 year old Internet Explorer now joins BlackBerry phones, dial-up modems and Palm Pilots in in the garbage bin of tech history.

As of Wednesday, Microsoft will no longer support the once-dominant Internet Explorer web browser.

This is not a surprise.

A year ago, it was announced by Microsoft that it was putting an end to Internet Explorer on June 15th, 2022, pushing users to its Edge browser which was launched in 2015.

According to internet analytics company Statcounter, the Chrome browser dominates with roughly a 65 percent share of the worldwide browser market, followed by Apple’s Safari with 19 percent. Edge lags with about four per cent, just ahead of Firefox.
