Immigration has driven a massive population increase in Canada.

Newly released data from Statistics Canada reveals Canada’s population grew by more than a million people from July 2022 to July of 2023.

This is the largest annual population boom Canada has seen since 1957 when the baby boom was at its height and there was a Hungarian refugee crisis.

As a result, Canada’s population is now estimated to be well over 40-million.

Experts at Stats Can say if the rate of population growth seen this past year remains constant in the future, it would lead to the Canadian population doubling in twenty-five years.

The Trudeau Liberals have set a target of 500,000 new immigrants every year.

With that number double for the past year, Immigration Minister Mark Miller says it underscores the need to plan for the arrival of newcomers.
