ORIGINAL "STAR TREK" DIRECTOR DIES AT 95

He chose to take TV viewers where no one had ever gone before.

The man who directed the original “Star Trek’ series and many other 60’s 70’s and 80’s TV shows and movies has died.

Robert Butler is credited with changing the face of television.

Among his credits: the original “Batman” series, “The Twilight Zone,”  “Hawaii Five-O,” “Moonlighting” and many more.

He won three Primetime Emmy Awards; two for “The Blue Knight” in 1974 and the other for “Hill Street Blues” in 1981.

He also directed feature films.

Robert Butler’s death was announced in an obituary over the weekend.

He was 95.
