Fans of the Toronto Blue Jays have their fingers and toes crossed in hopes that team General Manager Ross Atkins can acquire highly sought-after star Shohei Ohtani.
As of last night, the Jays were still in the hunt to sign the free agent pitching phenom, who is not returning to the California Angels. The 29-year-old Ohtani is just as big a star with his bat as he is as a pitcher, making him a very unique player.
The other teams said to be in the running include: the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and possibly San Francisco Giants.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, three teams previously involved — the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and New York Mets — have turned their attention to other targets.
