If you’ve booked a flight on the ultra low cost airline Lynx Air for this Monday or later, your flight has been cancelled.

It was announced Thursday evening the Calgary based Lynx Air will end operations as of 12:01am Monday February 26th.

Passengers with existing bookings on Lynx Air are advised to contact their credit card company to secure refunds for pre-booked travel.

The statement from Lynx Air cites “significant headwinds” over the past year including rising costs, high fuel prices, and exchange rates, as well as increasing high airport charges and a difficult economic and regulatory environment.

WestJet is among the airlines offering discounts for passengers who’s Lynx Air flights have been cancelled.

A statement from WestJet says it was ready to help mitigate some of the arising issues. These include offering discounted fares for stranded domestic travellers and capping fares for Canadian repatriation flights, on non-stop WestJet routes previously served by Lynx.
