It appears Israel’s retaliation is underway after last weekend’s Iranian attack on Israel.

Explosions were heard and drones reportedly spotted in Isfahan, near a major Iranian air base and nuclear site.

ABC News reports a senior U.S. official as saying Israeli missiles had struck the area.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Capri, Italy for the G7 foreign ministers meeting.

He said Friday the U.S. was not involved in any offensive operations in the apparent Israeli drone attack on Iran.

But he declined to confirm claims Israel gave Washington advance warning of the drone attack.

“I’m not going to speak to these reported events,” Blinken told reporters, “All I can say is that for our part and for the entire G7, our focus has been on de-escalation, on avoiding a larger conflict.”

The U.S. and other allies, including Canada, have repeatedly cautioned Israel to accept the win of thwarting last weekend’s Iranian attack and pull back on any retaliation.
